So, first of all, GOD is 3 in 1. Hard to comprehend. Difficult to wrap our human minds around. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Always together, sometimes apart. I imagine that the cross was such an internal conflict for the LORD- yet the only thing to truly satisfy both His righteousness & His love. We see a picture of GOD's character in the death of Jesus. First, we really see how human, yet divine He really was. His humanity is revealed through the crying out of desperation to "take this cup" from Him. Yet we see His divinity portrayed through His prayer on the cross to "forgive them, for they know not what they do". Not to mention that the King of Kings didn't take Himself down on that cross and smite everyone in His presence. (Thank goodness He didn't!) The truest example of self-sacrifice. And, at the same time, the Father watched from Heaven. I imagine the turmoil He must have been going through. GOD's character unveiled. His love cried out to save His Son, spare His life, bring Him into His arms. His righteousness argued that a perfect sacrifice must be made for the atonement of the sins of many. In the end, guess who won? BOTH OF THEM! The LORD turned away His face, received His sacrifice, and moments later, received His Son into His arms. After that, receiving His sons & daughters from the world into His Heavenly realm. What a glorious ending to what seemed to be a tragedy! GOD set the stage, Jesus walked it out, and in turn, WE get the Victory through their combined love!
How's that for the character of GOD?

How extravagant is HIS love for us. Completely amazing.
Holy Spirit, draw us into deeper desires for more of You. Let the longings of our heart become more and more focused in loving You more and more.
Increase our desire for intimate communion with You, Father. Let our worship break loose in our inner most being and cause the rivers of living water to begin to flow in our expressions. Grant us revelation on how true worship is spirit to Spirit communication.
Break us then mold us into vessels that can be filled, empowered and then used by you to advance Your Kingdom.
And Jesus, Help us to understand that Love is always a factor. That Love is always the answer. It was Love that sent Jesus to the cross that made the way for us. It is His Love that seeks to form and fashion us to become like Jesus.
Thank you, God, for a love that surpasses all understanding. May we always live each moment of our lives to glorify and honor You. Amen.
