Romans 6:21

"What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed?"

For me, this verse completely knocks out all places of fantasy land in my head. Of thinking or falsely believing that my life before Christ was in any way glamorous, good, or life-giving. That sin that we once lived in should disgust us. And if it doesn't, we need to pray that it does. For though we have been set free from all things, we continue to run back to our old prisons and try and lock ourselves back in. It doesn't make sense, and I'm tired of it. May we ponder the fruit that we bore in our old man. The destruction, death, and chaos. The way each action tore through our souls with another scar the Lord must now repair. There is no room for living in the past, or the future. All we have is this moment, and the Lord is present. It is more than enough.

Father, would you lead us down paths of righteousness. Would we count all that we have as filthy rags and pick up the mantle of humility and grace in our lives. You have liberated us from the things that once bound us so tightly. May we take hold of that freedom with all of our beings and run into your purifying fire. Lord, would you make us so humble and self-sacrificial that we would be willing to pay the highest price to see you glorified, to see salvation break forth. Would we be willing to give our very lives. Father, I thank you that you are so great and expansive, while we are so small and weak. Would you be strong in us, and move through us. We need you, Lord. More than yesterday, more than the next heartbeat, more than anything. Would you come, O God. You alone are worthy.

Nightly now, during prayer my thoughts have turned towards how the only thing that often keeps us from God is ourselves, and the shackles which we chain ourselves in.

This is definitely a great verse for that. I am unsure why we find security in the things from our past, but we need to realize that there is nothing to it. What fruit indeed. As so called 'servants of righteousness' we need to stand up to the challenge and keep our eyes on Him.

That's awesome :)

El Shaddai, "God Almighty who is all sufficient", or another way to translate is, "the God who is more than enough".

He will do for those who set their love upon Him for He IS more than enough!

What an awesome season. It is by His grace and strength alone that we even desire to continue. How cool is that?

Yes. Like everyone's been saying lately, I cannot wait to get to the point where we are not even products of our pasts anymore. "Sister Bynum" wrote about it in no more sheets. . it's like putting your sin on life support, and letting it stay there, even when you've already been delivered.

God has so much for us, and when we step out of our minds, our ways of thinking and doing things, then He can move in is.

When the struggle is relaxed and the flow is released to flow.
