Focus

Over the past couple months I have learned that you become what you focus on. Whatever you hone in on in your thoughts, actions, and spirit; you are. If you focus on disunity, you become an instrument of division. If you focus on failure, you will never succeed. If you try so hard to not become something, and expend all your energy on it; you eventually morph into it. If you contemplate the imperfections of others, you start to hold hate in your heart. Fortunately, it works both ways. If you focus on faith, you become a warrior in the Spirit. If you focus on a good life and much success, you will live the life you envision. If you focus on embodying the qualities of the Spirit, you begin to bear good fruit. If you focus on the holy in each of God's children, you become a mighty vessel of God's great love. Now I understand why Paul said what he did in Philippians 4:8

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things."

Because, truly, whatever you think upon; you become.

This also reminded me of your post
1 Peter 2:15-17

"15For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. 16Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. 17Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king."
