it saved a wretch like me

No, the kind of fasting I want calls you to free those who are wrongly imprisoned and to stop oppressing those who work for you. Treat them fairly and give them what they earn. I want you to share your food with the hungry and to welcome poor wanderers into your homes. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help. If you do these things, your salvation will come like the dawn. Yes, your healing will come quickly. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind. Then when you call, the Lord will answer. `Yes, I am here,' he will quickly reply. Stop oppressing the helpless and stop making false accusations and spreading vicious rumors!

-Isaiah 58:6-9

it's time we fast our pride! we need to lay down our selfishness and serve those who have none to serve them. we must humble ourselves and do these things to the least of them, SO THAT WE'RE DOING THEM TO JESUS. oh God make it our lives to be your hands and feet, to help your people, Lord, to fulfill your calling. help us to be courageous and do your will no matter what the world will think of us, no matter what they say. let our only motivation be to please your heart, God, to bring a smile upon your face. let our reward be a heavenly one, Lord, and bless our lives fruitfully. YOU ARE AWESOME, in every sense of the word. help us to truly be your Church, a beautiful bride worth coming back for.

Fasting pride...

Man, pride is a killer. Literally.

Pride is the sin that caused the Pharisees to reject Jesus as their Messiah and crucify Him instead.

"These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren." ( Prov. 6:16-19).

Father, I thank you for Sarah. I thank You for her beautiful heart and her incredible love for You. I ask You to please guide and grow her in Your ways each and every day. Amen.
