For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
-Hebrews 4:15
I think that it is really crazy that Jesus was tempted in every way that we are tempted. I cannot imagine what a painful experience that must have been, yet it was one he had to endure in order to bring true salvation to us. Jesus knew sin inside and out. He knew the temporary "rewards", and the eternal consequences. He got to experience sin on the Adam side of things, and that must have been quite the narrowing of vision from his heavenly stance. Jesus felt every pain that we feel, and worse. When we feel rejected, all we have to do is think of how Jesus felt on the cross. "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?"was his divinely human plea for a Savior that only He could be. It was the cry of a broken heart, broken body, and broken spirit. God turned His face away from His only Son, so that we could live. Jesus endured all of our pain, so that we wouldn't have to. He was temped as we are tempted, and yet he set an unwavering standard for our lives: He was without sin. Let us then abhor what is evil, and cling to what is good. (Romans 12:9) Let us die to everything, in hopes that we may, by any means, obtain resurrection. (Philippians 3:11)

in all points tempted... yeah, wow.
as you already know, i get so sick of this weighed down, dumbed down, pretending we cant overcome life that so often comes with our inaccurate interpretation of scripture.
the word says PUT OFF all sin, childishness, malice, etc. Put off means put off, dang it is pretty simple.
I long to walk in maturity, long to have my first thoughts always be Christ-like. Long to stand face to face and hear that He is well pleased.
I'm glad we have a savior who understands.
Haha.
Guatemala. Today!
